MURDER STORY

Markus Innocenti’s debut feature (co-created with Edward Arno) was produced by Tom Reeve and starred Christopher Lee (“Star Wars: Episode II”,” Lord of the Rings”) and Alexis Denisof (“Angel”, “First Knight”). Shot entirely on location in the Netherlands, the film has consistently received praise from critics but is only available in the US on anthology DVD collections.

MUSIC VIDEOS

Markus Innocenti became a film director during the 1980’s music video revolution. Mentored by industry legends Jon Roseman (producer of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”),  and Simon Napier Bell (who took George Michael to international stardom), Markus’ career in music video made him one of the UK’s most well-known filmmakers.

COMMERCIALS

Markus Innocenti has partnered with several commercials production houses in the course of his career, including Garrett’s in London and Relativity in Los Angeles. He holds a record for the “longest” commercial ever shown on British TV. “Bymail”, for celebrity designer Jeff Banks, was shot for a meager $70,000 - yet generated $24,000,000 in sales within 48 hours of initial screening. The clip below was made for a Sapporo America cable campaign in big city markets.

IN WATER, WRIT

British actor/director Oliver Cowley appears as the confused spirit of a deceased WW1 soldier in Markus Innocenti’s latest short feature, “In Water, Writ”. Oliver Cowley narrates excerpts from the WW1 poets - Sassoon, Auden, Graves, Owen and Brooke, as the images follow the dead soldier’s return “home” - to a world that is both familiar yet strangely unrecognizable.

The film was co- produced by Hannah Cowley through Hurbinek Studio Productions and includes archive footage Hannah acquired from the Imperial War Museum in London and edited in Los Angeles.

FLAME OF THE WEST

“Flame” is set in the suburban wasteland of western Sydney, Australia and is a story of ambition crushed. Hannah Cowley wrote, directed and stars in “Flame” and has been mentored by filmmaker Jane Campion from the project’s origins. Filmworks, USA provided post-production services in Los Angeles and Markus Innocenti executive-produced. The film was well-received at its screenings during the Cannes Short Film Corner in May 2008 and went on to be selected for the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival. It is now in North American distribution.
