Markus Innocenti is a Scottish-American filmmaker and author. He began his film career as a production designer in London before becoming one of the most respected music video directors of the 1980s.
His debut feature film, “Murder Story”, an Anglo-Dutch co-production shot in the Netherlands,starred Sir Christopher Lee.
He relocated to Los Angeles in the 1990s, developing projects at Maverick, the entertainment company set up by Warners for Madonna and Freddy DeMann in 1992. He sold several screenplays and directed the erotic thriller “Sweetheart Murders” in 1997.

A pioneer in digital post-production, he co-founded audio boutique The Mission in 2001, and is an expert post-production specialist. As part of the team for network reality show “Extreme Makeover:Home Edition” he designed sound elements and supervised final delivery.
His experience as a producer began in 1986 with multi-camera concert specials for the BBC. More recently, he has produced independent films in the US, including “The Divided” starring Jeremy London and Jesse Pomeroy’s award-winning drama “worldfullofnothing“.
In recent years, Markus has focused on producing and directing ‘micro-budget’ features. He has also re-entered the music video business after two decades away. In February 2012, he launched Red Dog Logic — a production and post-production boutique utilizing mature and emerging digital technologies.
A parallel career path as an author of mystery crime fiction is perhaps an inevitable development for a screenwriter with a passion for the genre. Markus has completed “Friday Night Fish Fry”; the first of a series of novels set in present-day Los Angeles. He is currently at work on the next; “Saturday Night Juke Jive”.
His non-fiction work, as yet unpublished, includes a three volume series; “The Filmmaker’s Art” and a single-volume companion, “The Filmmaker’s Heart”. These recently completed books are designed to assist emerging filmmakers understand the craft of directing and develop a ’signature’ style.
